Terms of Service

Introduction

Please review the following terms carefully. By ordering a commission, you signify your agreement to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to be bound by these Terms of Service in their entirety, you may not access or use my writing services.

For purposes of this agreement, “Vintage Civet Writing” refers to all social media run under the title of “Vintage Civet” OR “Vintage Civet Writing”, and must be run by the official owner of said brand, bibliohound/eventidehound. “You” refers to the person reading this document, as a customer of these writing services. “I”, “we”, “me”, and “my” refers to the business owner of this service.

Privacy Policy

Your private data is not collected or stored anywhere where it shouldn’t be.

Your email, when used to access the commission form, is not stored anywhere nor is it accessible via the responses section. If a PayPal email is used for payment, the email will not be stored anywhere outside of the history of transactions on PayPal. Your personal information associated with your PayPal will not be collected either.

About this Service

By ordering a commission, you are agreeing to receive either of the following, depending on what is ordered: A personalized, fictional story.

You also understand and agree to the following conditions that come with this service:

• That your commissioned product will be stored on Google Docs by default, but that you may also request to be sent a PDF or some other file format for free.
• That this is a digital product, so no shipping or tracking numbers will be required.
• That I will post prose story commissions online onto my portfolio, on my blog, and/or my FurAffinity account, unless you opt out. There is no fee required to opt out of this condition.
• That you will receive updates on your commission, and that you may ask for updates whenever you see fit - within reason.
• That I reserve the right to reject a commission for reasons not listed in the TOS.

Restrictions

When you use my services, you agree that you will not do the following:

• Claim my prose as your own. You will be blacklisted if this happens.
• Profit off of my writing. If you want commercial use of my writing, copyright laws will have to apply.
• Attempt to circumnavigate the boundaries listed in disallowed writing topics.
• Use your commission for NFTs/GenAI.

Intellectual Property Disclosure

While the prose within a story commission is my intellectual property, the materials within it - such as the characters - belong to you, the customer, and thus the end product file given to you is legally yours to own.

Writing in a character description commission does not require any accreditation when used elsewhere. Writing from a prose story will require accreditation to “Vintage Civet Writing” or “Vintage Civet” if the commission is posted elsewhere by the customer.

Dispute Resolutions Clause

Any disputes will be resolved via information negotiations - or you and Vintage Civet Writing talking things out. If this does not work, it will be escalated to a refund via PayPal.

Governing Laws Clause

This Terms of Service is enforced by the laws of the United States of America.

Payment Terms and Information

All payments are to be made through PayPal’s Goods and Services option. All currency is allowed for payment, but it needs to be converted to USD prior to payment through PayPal. Payment is to be done in full and upfront before the commission starts OR after the first draft is sent. Not complying with this in a timely fashion - which is up to a week - will result in the commission being canceled.

Refund Policy

Once the commission is finished, refunds are not allowed. Refunds are only granted if the commission is canceled after payment has occurred and before the product is delivered. If the commission is canceled, you will be refunded in full payment, and the final results of the commission will be sent to you via Google Docs. If the commission is not done in a timely fashion - which is a month - you can request a refund.

Technical Requirements Clause

Vintage Civet Writing cannot guarantee PayPal or Google Docs will be functioning correctly at all times. Please let Vintage Civet know if this happens, and the owner will try to work around this.

Corrections Clause

Vintage Civet Writing reserves the right to correct any errors in this Terms of Service document without prior notice. Vintage Civet Writings also reserves the right to update the Terms of Service document without prior notice.

Termination Clause:

Vintage Civet Writing reserves the right to terminate a commission if the customer is found to have broken the Terms of Service or engaged in behavior Vintage Civet deems problematic, such as pedophilia, pro-racist sentiment, Nazi apologism, etc.

The user will be refunded, have their commission delivered if it was started, and be informed that the commission has been terminated. No explanation as to why this happened is required.

Vintage Civet Writing cannot guarantee your satisfaction with a commission.
